What We Do

CalculateMyGPA.net provides GPA calculators that work the way students actually need them to. Every calculator on this site uses the same formulas that school registrars, AMCAS, LSAC, and university admissions offices use. We cover the full range of GPA calculations: unweighted 4.0 scale, weighted AP/IB/Honors GPA, cumulative GPA, semester GPA, goal-planning calculators, specialty GPA for medical and law school applications, and international grade conversions.

All calculators run entirely in your browser. Your grades are never sent to any server, stored, or shared. Closing the browser clears all entered data. We do not require an account or email address to use any tool on this site.

Who Uses This Site

High school students use our weighted GPA calculators for college applications and to understand how AP, IB, and Honors courses affect their GPA. Our UC GPA calculator is specifically built for California applicants.

College students use semester and cumulative GPA calculators to track academic standing and plan for graduate school. Our target GPA and raise my GPA tools help students plan how many strong semesters are needed to reach a specific GPA goal.

Pre-med students use the BCPM GPA calculator and medical school GPA calculator to estimate their AMCAS-computed GPA before applying.

Pre-law students use the law school GPA calculator to understand how LSAC counts all undergraduate grades, including repeated courses, differently from their school's official GPA.

International students use our CGPA, Indian GPA, and international GPA converters to translate their grades into the US 4.0 scale for graduate school applications.

Formula Sources & Accuracy

Every calculator on this site is built from primary source documentation:

  • AMCAS Applicant Guide — medical school GPA and BCPM classification rules
  • LSAC GPA Calculation Instructions — law school GPA methodology
  • College Board AP Grading Policy — AP course weighting (+1.0)
  • University of California Admissions Policy — UC GPA cap and bonus rules
  • AACRAO Grade Point Average Guide — standard 4.0 scale reference

Each formula is cross-checked against at least two independent worked examples before publishing. We review all calculators annually and whenever official policies change. See our full Methodology page for the complete formula documentation.

Editorial Standards

Resource articles on this site are written to answer specific questions students ask about GPA — how it works, what it means for college applications, and how to improve it. Articles are fact-checked against official institutional policies and updated when policies change.

We do not accept sponsored content, paid placements, or affiliate arrangements that would influence our calculator results or editorial recommendations. The calculators and content exist to help students, not to generate leads for third-party services.

Privacy by Design

We built the site so that collecting grade data is technically impossible — all calculations happen in your browser using JavaScript. No grade, course name, or credit hour value you enter is ever transmitted to our servers. We use standard analytics (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager and Microsoft Clarity) to understand site usage at an aggregate level. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Limitations

Our calculators are tools for estimation and planning. They are not substitutes for official GPA records. Individual institutions may apply rounding rules, grade scales, or course classification standards that differ from the standard formulas we implement. Always verify your official GPA with your registrar or the relevant application system (AMCAS, LSAC, etc.) before submitting any application. See our Disclaimer for the full statement.

Contact & Feedback

For bug reports, formula discrepancies, or suggestions, use the Contact page. We review all messages and respond to accuracy reports within 48 hours. If a formula error is confirmed, it is corrected and the fix is noted on the relevant calculator page.
